What You Will Do:

The Raytheon team is looking for a Platform Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world-class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align with the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream delivering high-frequency high-quality deployments to our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages platforms and deployment methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in platform engineering concepts an eagerness to learn the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team and an interest in complex real-time safety-critical systems.

The job location for this opportunity is in Tewksbury Massachusetts.

• Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering platform solutions for one of the MDS Departments programs.
• Specific responsibilities include:
• Design develop and test platform solutions in an agile collaborative environment.
• Debug existing platforms and correct deployment or configuration issues.
• Provide specific input to platform design including hardware/software trade-offs modularity use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) components and system-level requirements analysis.
• Implement recommendations for improving documentation platform build processes and deployment standards.
• Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration between platform solutions and application software.

What You Will Learn:

• The workings of Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems.
• How to develop maintain and deploy platforms supporting large-scale complex software solutions in an agile environment.
• Tools and best practices associated with DevSecOps including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts containerization and Infrastructure as Code.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related (STEM) discipline.
• Experience in software build deployments containerization methodologies (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible Terraform).
• Experience developing and deploying solutions in a team-based development environment using the Agile Scrum or Kanban framework.
• Excellent communication oral presentation and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with agile management tools (e.g. JIRA Confluence).
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and platforms (e.g. Docker Ansible Tower Artifactory GitHub/BitBucket).
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools for automating platform deployment pipelines.
• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
• Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning cross-team collaboration and training.

The salary range for this role is 62900 USD - 119700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
