Job Description:

Physical Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients physical condition mobility strength balance posture and range of motion.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Perform therapeutic exercises to improve strength flexibility endurance and coordination.
  • Use manual therapy techniques including joint mobilization and soft tissue manipulation.
  • Administer physical agents such as heat cold ultrasound electrical stimulation and traction when appropriate.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs injury prevention posture body mechanics and self-management techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians nurses occupational therapists speech therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations treatment sessions progress notes and discharge summaries.
  • Assist patients in regaining mobility following surgery injury stroke or illness.
  • Recommend assistive devices such as walkers canes crutches wheelchairs or orthotics and provide training on their use.
  • Assess fall risk and implement interventions to improve safety and reduce injury.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations ethical standards infection control and patient privacy requirements.
  • Participate in discharge planning and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation aides as permitted by state regulations.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices through continuing education and professional development.

    Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 am 6:00 pm 1 weekend per month and 2 holidays per year.
