Description:

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by the laboratory
• Assesses job functions and takes appropriate action when problems are detected.
• Identifies problems with specimens test orders registration and takes appropriate action
• Identifies patients and specimens correctly from beginning of process to release of results.
• Accessions specimens into the Laboratory Information System accurately recording pertinent data to be used by the physician in the interpretation of tests results
• Collects blood samples by appropriate method on premature babies to geriatric patients utilizing prescribed safety and infection control procedures to protect the patient and the phlebotomist
• Investigates documents and follows up on customers concerns inquiries and provides prompt polite customer service

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
