PHLEBOTOMIIST

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations
Collect and label blood urine and other specimens for laboratory testing
Verify patient identity using approved patient identifiers prior to specimen collection
Assistwith specimen transport and basic processing activities
Perform high-quality blood draws including patients with difficult venous access
Maintain compliance with infection control safety and HIPAA requirements
Accurately document procedures and patient interactions
Communicate effectively with medical staff and patients
Support laboratory workflow activities as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Clinical hospital setting
Interaction with diverse patient populations including geriatric and medically complex patients
Requires standing walking and occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds)
Must adhere to all VA safety privacy and workplace policies

This is an anticipated opportunity. EGA is currently identifying qualified candidates in support of a potential future contract.
