KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations

• Collect and label blood urine and other specimens for laboratory testing

• Verify patient identity using approved patient identifiers prior to specimen collection

• Assistwith specimen transport and basic processing activities

• Perform high-quality blood draws including patients with difficult venous access

• Maintain compliance with infection control safety and HIPAA requirements

• Accurately document procedures and patient interactions

• Communicate effectively with medical staff and patients

• Support laboratory workflow activities as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Clinical hospital setting

• Interaction with diverse patient populations including geriatric and medically complex patients

• Requires standing walking and occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds)

• Must adhere to all VA safety privacy and workplace policies

This is an anticipated opportunity. EGA is currently identifying qualified candidates in support of a potential future contract.
