Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at MacDill Air Force Base

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures

• Prepare and dispense outpatient prescriptions including refills and order entry

• Support pharmacists with medication processing patient requests and provider inquiries

• Monitor for potential drug interactions and report adverse drug reactions

• Participate in quality improvement activities including inspections error reporting and workload documentation

• Manage inventory including ordering stocking and tracking medications and supplies

• Collaborate with healthcare staff to support patient care and treatment compliance

• Participate in peer review activities case conferences or research initiatives as required by the medical treatment facility

• Education: Graduate of a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by ASHP a recognized pharmacy technician program (technical hospital or retail) or a formal U.S. Military medical services training program

• Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience after graduation

• Must practice within the scope of certification and applicable regulations
