Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk VA.

$5000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

Location: Norfolk VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

Learn more

Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner

  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care

  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technicians scope of practice as needed

  • Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information

  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements

  • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities other duties may be assigned.

  • A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)

Experience

  • Previous Pharmacy Experience (preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications experience location market conditions and business needs.
