Job Summary
Title:PAYROLL SPECIALIST SUBSTITUTEStatus:Part-Time / Temporary (As Needed) to cover maternity to:Treasurer/CFOJob Objective:Provides interim temporary or part-time support for payroll and benefit operations on an as-needed basis. Performs data entry wage calculations accounting support payroll processing to ensure smooth business office operations during the Payroll Specialists maternity leave. Training will begin ASAP with the goal of covering for the Payroll Specialist during a February - March maternity leave (actual dates may vary).Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma. Data processing skills verified by training or work understanding of governmental accounting to effectively operate all essential office equipment (e.g. computers copiers printers etc.).Advanced office-related technology skills deemed essential at the time of flexibility reliability self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/ a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school prerequisite qualifications to be : Successful completion of annual continuing education/on-line training is :1. Performs employee payroll/benefit functions and ancillary duties that facilitate the timely attainment of district objectives. Keeps informed about program and procedure and organizes information. Confirms data to prevent entry errors. Prepares documents using database presentation application spreadsheet and word processing an effective records management system. Files and retrieves assigned tasks within required develops effective solutions for work-related employees are placed on the correct salary schedule/experience employee contracts salary notices and other related personnel payroll deduction authorization medical disability personal/family leave and vacation time sheets. Calculates gross wages. Processes the payroll. Reconciles payroll paychecks/deposit confirmations forms as payroll reports and tax payments by required monthly quarterly and annual payroll reports. Prepares employee W-2 employment services worker compensation and unemployment authorized employment inquiries (e.g. loan applications etc.).Processes termination and retirement forms. Maintains retirement assistance to office visitors. Directs inquiries to appropriate telephone calls. Writes accurate messages when staff members are not mail. Prepares photocopies. Scans documents. Collates printed vendor prices. Assists with Invitation for Bid (IFB) and Request for Proposal (REP) procedures. Maintains procurement files (e.g. letters contracts confirmations guarantees etc.).Provides information requested by auditors during annual back-up support for other office staff as needed to ensure dependable service coverage during normal business hours. Assists with special projects as directed.2. Exemplifies professionalism. Fosters goodwill to enhance the districts public with drug-free workplace rules board policies and administrative guidelines/ to an effective working environment. Performs all aspects of the as part of a cohesive team. Develops mutually respectful relationships with an acceptable attendance record and is a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.3. Maintains open/effective communications. Complies with administrative directives and federal/state laws when dealing with discrimination inappropriate behavior suspected child abuse or neglect.6.
