Job Summary
This position helps advance the Citys Strategic Plan by supporting an equitable and efficient compensation system that ensures accurate timely and transparent payroll services for all City employees. The Payroll Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality service to departments and staff through collaboration problem-solving and a commitment to ongoing :The City of Lawrence KS is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join the Human Resources Department. This position performs analytical and technical duties related to payroll processing and reporting for all City departments. Responsibilities include preparing and auditing payroll transactions ensuring compliance with tax and wage laws processing deductions and garnishments and creating reports to support City ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills accuracy in data management and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless payroll operation. This role provides the opportunity to enhance Citywide payroll systems streamline processes and support our workforce with reliable and timely payroll :Equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Human Resources Accounting Finance Business or Public Administration or a related (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in payroll processing pay policy administration and tax compliance.- Knowledge of payroll systems wage and hour laws and tax regulations.- Proficiency with HRIS or HCM software and Microsoft Office applications.- Strong analytical organizational and communication include a cover letter with your resume and 3 successful candidate must pass a background check post-offer physical and drug :Health/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance:Various dependent coverage levels available;FREE Well Care Clinic through LMH; other wellness benefits/perksPaid Time Off: 12 Vacation days 12 Sick days accrued per year; 2 days Personal Leave 10 Paid HolidaysRetirement: Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS)
