Job Summary

We are currently seeking a part time Payroll Administrator to assist with our payroll processing and Human Resources administrative tasks. This position would require 20 hours per week in office. It is a non-benefitted position compensated within the range of $30-$35 per hour.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Human Resources this role supports the organizations payroll administration. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of employee payroll involving fostering strong working relationships with program directors across the organization while maintaining compliance with internal controls and nonprofit accounting standards. The Payroll Administrator also assists with human resource needs as requested.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Chiefly manage and process biweekly payroll with strict adherence to timeliness and accuracy

  • Process payroll withholdings and deductions accurately and on time

  • Prepare biweekly payroll journal entries and manage related documentation

  • Prepare and process 403(b) & 457(b) distributions

  • Prepare and process benefit contributions to HSA accounts

  • Assist with data collection and change within open enrollment time periods

  • Act as liaison between broker and benefit carriers with changes in employee benefits

  • Ensure record keeping accuracy within the HRIS/Payroll database

  • Assist with data collection during annual workers compensation audit

  • Interface with Finance department as necessary

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with payroll software running payroll processes required

  • Proficient with technology including but not limited to Google Suite Microsoft Office Payroll software Checkwriters specifically preferred

  • An ability to maintain confidentiality of program records and administrative information.

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Payroll or related field preferred

  • Prior professional experience in a business environment

  • A basic understanding of Jewish culture values and traditions and/or the willingness to learn.
