Pathology Laboratory Assistant

Pathology Lab Assistant will assist the Lab Manager with specimen processing quality assurance on each pathology ensuring receipt and accessioning specimens.

The schedule for this position is

• Day-to-day path lab operations with commitment to providing the highest quality service to patients.
• Daily confirmation of receipt and accessioning specimens.
• Maintain quality control to ensure reliability of processing procedures.
• Verify patient demographics physician data tests requested time and date of collection appropriate clinical information and all other pertinent data found on laboratory request forms.
• Identifies problems with specimen types missing information etc. and works with clinical staff to resolve them.
• Accurately enters patient information into laboratory information system (LIS).
• Communicate to manager to maintain sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties.
• Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with practice staff.
• Provide advanced problem solving troubleshooting interpretation/consultation verification of specimen quality.
• Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and APDerm.

• Complete all assigned required training by the deadline including but not limited the Code of Conduct Privacy & Data Security and OSHA.

• HS degree and BA preferred.
• Accuracy and close attention to detail.
• Strong analytical judgement.
• Visual acuity (including color discrimination) to distinguish fine detail.
• Good organizational skills ability to triage and prioritize.

The salary for this role will range from USD $19.83 to 26.91 per hour based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to years of experience location relevant skills training education etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.
