Part-Time School Nurse

As a Part-Time School Nurse at The Prairie School you will help ensure our students are healthy safe and ready to learn. Working alongside our Lead Nurse you will provide compassionate care to students and have the experience and confidence to independently manage the Health Office when the Lead Nurse is unavailable.

Core Responsibilities / Skills That Support Success

• Assess and care for student illnesses injuries and medical emergencies.
• Administer medications and support students with chronic or individualized health needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
• Communicate with families and coordinate follow-up care when appropriate.
• Support students medications health plans and supplies for field trips and school activities.
• Collaborate with the Lead Nurse faculty staff and student support teams.
• Step fully into the Lead Nurse role when needed using sound clinical judgment to independently manage student health needs and the Health Office.

Experience We Value

• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Nursing experience in pediatrics school health emergency care family practice or a related setting is preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently.
• Warm calm organized and comfortable working with children and adolescents.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to Prairies student-centered community.
