Part-Time Faculty History Department (Day Programs)

Framingham State University was founded in 1839 for a singular purpose - meeting a public need to promote the public good. At our founding as the nations first public normal school that need was for comprehensively educated public school teachers who would in turn promote an educated citizenry. FSU continues to offer exceptional teacher education programs and while we are proud of our roots as a teachers college we have grown far beyond them. FSU currently enrolls about 3000 undergraduate and 1200 graduate and professional students offers 60 undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts and humanities behavioral and social sciences and professional fields and enrolls 48% BIPOC students and 54% first-generation college students in our undergraduate programs. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES FOR PART-TIME FACULTY:

• Teachcourse(s) in U.S. European Latin American or World History.

• Teach in online hybrid or face-to-face formats.

• Develop syllabi and instructional materials.

• Assess student performance.

• Provide assistance and mentorship to students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in a related field.
• Evidence of expertise scholarly activity or creative work appropriate to the discipline.
• Commitment toequity inclusion and belongingin the curriculum and the classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD or other terminal degree in related field.
• Successful college teaching experience.

This posting is for potentialpart-time non-benefited day program faculty positions in theHistoryDepartment. The current salary rate for a typical lecture course (4 contact hours) taught by a new part-time faculty member in the day programis $7231.12 paid through bi-weekly payroll direct deposit. Rates may varyfor other course types based on contact hour equivalencies.
