Job Summary
Under the guidance of Assistive Technology Specialist supports management and implementation of Assistive Technology tools and best practices to help meet the needs of students and staff.
Responsibilities
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Review and disburse active school support requests as appropriate.
Maintain technology preparation workflow.
Provide support to school teams providers and parents regarding equipment troubleshooting.
Assist Assistive Technology staff with maintenance use and distribution of equipment and software.
Support creation of low-tech communication systems for identified students.
Responsible for inventory control system of assistive technology devices (e.g. digital inventory labeling equipment assigning equipment contacting vendors for maintenance).
Support development of materials needed to deliver countywide professional development workshops focusing on supporting students with assistive technology needs.
Assist with planning preparation and evaluation of professional learning opportunities offered by the assistive technology office.
Perform a variety of clerical tasks including filing documentation duplication of handouts for training sessions and completing forms on the computer.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Training and Experience:
HS diploma or equivalent
Attainment of ONE of the following qualifications is required:
- Forty-eight (48 college credits)
- ParaPro Assessment with passing score of 455 or higher before 9/1/2026 with minimum passing scores: Reading/Writing (322) and Mathematics (334)
- Foundations of Classroom Support with a minimum passing score of 220 working with individuals with developmental emotional learning and/or physical disabilities is preferred. One years experience working with students in structured situations is preferred. Experience working with students needing assistive technology support preferred.
