Prepare units for coating by performing surface prep including cleaning masking and final inspection prior to paint application
Perform painting operations within a paint booth using an HVLP pressure pot system
Apply epoxy primer and polyurethane topcoat in accordance with specifications and work instructions
Mix and handle two-part coatings primarily Amercoat 450H ensuring proper ratios and application techniques
Monitor coating thickness finish quality and cure requirements to meet quality standards
Perform touch-ups and rework as needed to ensure a finished defect-free product
Maintain paint booth equipment spray systems and work area to ensure safe and efficient operation
Adhere to printed work instruction manuals and all quality procedures
Observe and practice safety procedures and policies including proper use of PPE when handling coatings and solvents
Participate in department safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Frequent standing sitting walking bending stooping twisting and occasional crawling
Frequent heavy lifting pushing pulling and material handling
Ability to work in a paint booth environment with proper protective equipment
The ability to work overtime and some Saturdays as needed
Your Education Should Be
High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
Your Professional Experience Should Be
Previous industrial painting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience applying two-part epoxy and polyurethane coatings
Familiarity with HVLP pressure pot spray systems strongly preferred
Previous experience in a shop manufacturing or fabrication environment
