Job Summary

We are seeking aPackaging Mechanicwho will be responsible for the setup changeover troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of high-speed bottle packaging lines. Operating within a strict cGMP and FDA-regulated OTC pharmaceutical environment this role ensures all line componentsincluding tablet counters cappers labelers and cartonersrun smoothly and meet production metrics. They must have hands-on experience in pharmaceutical or nutraceutical packaging line mechanics strong electro-mechanical diagnostic abilities and a commitment to quality and operator safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complete line setups and timely changeovers across multi-component bottle packaging lines independently.
  • Diagnose repair and replace defective parts on mechanical pneumatic and motorized equipment to minimize line downtime.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical systems motor controls sensors and mechanical assemblies using multimeters tachometers and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and service bottle unscramblers electronic tablet counters slat fillers cappers induction sealers labelers and heat shrink tunnels.
  • Inspect and repair cartoners QR code printers tray/case formers case packers case tapers accumulation tables and dust collectors.
  • Perform daily weekly and monthly PM routines on packaging line machinery conveyors air compressors and facility utilities.
  • Complete work orders equipment operation logs and batch records accurately in compliance with company SOPs and cGMP regulations.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections product sampling and machine testing during operation to verify finished packaging integrity.
  • Guide and coach Packaging Operators on safe machine operation minor adjustments breakdown procedures and proper sanitation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics mechanical blueprints equipment manuals and CMMS work orders to execute repairs.
  • Adhere strictly to cleanroom gowning personal hygiene LOTO and OSHA safety standards to preserve product purity.
  • Assist with new equipment installations general facility mechanical needs and extended shift/weekendovertime duties as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience performing mechanical maintenance troubleshooting repairs and changeovers on bottle packaging lines within pharmaceutical OTC nutritional supplement or food manufacturing industries.
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field (or an advanced technical training certificate/diploma).
  • Ability to read blueprints electrical schematics work orders and use precision measuring equipment (calipers micrometers multimeters/VOMs).
  • Practical understanding of cGMP regulations FDA packaging standards and OSHA safety protocols.
  • Capability to work 1st or 2nd shifts along with extended daily hours and occasionalweekendovertime.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic familiarity or troubleshooting experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated vision systems.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log work orders and track spare parts inventory.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) & 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM).
