Job Summary

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packaging Lead to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our packaging department in the manufacture of Dry Pet food. This role requires strong leadership problem-solving skills and coordination with other plant departments to ensure smooth production flow. The Packaging Lead will be responsible for managing sanitation breaks product changeovers ensuring capability advancement of team and shift handovers efficiently and effectively.

Shift

12-hour rotating shift: 6:00 am-6:30 pm (days) and 6:00 pm 6:30am (nights) alternating every 12 weeks. Four days on four days off.

What are we looking for

  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to lead a team and set clear direction.
  • High attention to detail problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to train others in job functions within the Packaging area.
  • Familiarity with packaging systems including but not limited to KSE Courbon Advanced Engineering General Packer baggers and Newtec palletizers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at elevated heights.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 65 lbs. occasionally.
  • Adaptability to varying environmental conditions including exposure to heat cold dust dirt and chemicals.

What will be your key responsibilities

  • Ensure packaging line efficiency aligns with the production plan escalating any deviations from standard operations.
  • Support team members in maintaining the highest standards of safety quality and efficiency in the packaging department.
  • Manage needs of the packaging area including crewing levels/assignment of roles schedule adjustments and pack materials management to ensure consistent efficient process flow.
  • Consolidate and verify all shift documentation.
  • Uphold and enforce cleaning and sanitation protocols to maintain a high standard of hygiene.
  • Actively engage in operational processes to drive continuous improvement.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skills and total compensation package for this position will include variable pay medical and dental benefits participation in 401k plan and paid time off of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range listed is applicable to IL:USD 28.17 - USD 38.74
