Syngentas Product Technology and Engineering Team is seeking a Packaging Engineering Co-op to join our team in Greensboro North Carolina. As a co-op you will be responsible for supporting our packaging engineers development maintenance and cost-reduction projects. You will interface closely with all groups (i.e. Formulation Development Purchasing Regulatory Affairs Supply Chain Commercial Country Contacts etc.) associated with product commercialization and are expected to utilize available technologies knowledge and communication resources to maintain Syngentas industry-leading reputation in packaging. As part of this experience you will have the opportunity to manage your own project.
As part of Syngentas Emerging Talent Program you will gain hands-on experience exposure to day-to-day business operations and opportunities to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges while developing your professional skills.
Estimated Duration: January 2027 June 2027
The expectation is that each selected Co-op will be able to work 40 hours a week onsite for the duration of their assignment.
Accountabilities:
- Oversee and manage the complete packaging development process comprising the creation of packaging designs prototype development performance testing and regulatory compliance for agricultural chemical product registration transportation storage and use.
- Provide troubleshooting support to adjacent supply chain functions (procurement manufacturing quality etc.) to ensure a safe user-friendly customer experience.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials labor efficiency transportation and storage.
- Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams ensuring all packaging-related milestones are completed on time.
- Demonstrate knowledge of package technologies materials and testing related to the development of new packaging components.
- Implement innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that maximize our competitive advantage and build brand preference.
Qualifications :
- Enrollment in a Bachelors degree program in Packaging Packaging Science or another closely related field of study.
- Must be a current student continuing their education upon completion of the internship term (graduation date of December 2027 or later).
- Prefer a student with Sophomore or Junior standing.
- Fluent in English. Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering or another engineering/science discipline with practical packaging experience preferred.
Additional Information :
Salary for this position ranges between $20 - $45 hourly.
