Out of School Time Coordinator
Job Summary
Supports the work of the Y a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development healthy living and social responsibility. Build members and the communitys understanding of the YMCAs cause and change.
This position provides direct supervision to a group of children in a school-age setting. Provides positive engagement to youth in a safe nurturing environment. Provides quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty respect responsibility and caring.
1. Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members participants volunteers and guests. While exemplifying the Ys commitment to the four-character values of caring honesty respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly.
2. Supervises and supports KFY OST programs at all locations
3. Supports and trains staff in planning engaging enrichment-based age-appropriate activities.
4. Provides leadership to co-staff.
5. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
6. Attend staff meetings training and dedicated events. (Family nights and others)
7. Follows YMCA policies and procedures including those related to medical and disciplinary situations child abuse prevention and emergencies.
8. Fulfills any other functions appointed by the YMCA Administration.
1. At least 21 years of age
2. Must pass a background check
3. Minimum of 1 year supervising 3 staff
4. 3 years experience working with youth preferably in a school age setting.
5. Behavioral management experience within a School Childcare Camp setting or parenthood is preferred.
6. 2-4 years experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities is preferred.
7. Effective verbal communication skills
8. CPR First Aid AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training with the first 30 days of hire.
9. Completed health form within the first 30 days of hire.
