Job Summary

OPS Transportation and Parking Assistant

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Class E drivers license and completion of at least 9th grade.

Job Description:
  • Operation of TAPS ramp-equipped minivan to transport students and staff with mobility-related disabilities in a safe efficient timely and courteous manner.

  • Aid passengers in need of assistance with boarding and alighting the vehicle.

  • Patrol areas of campus as assigned (streets parking facilities and traffic entrances) to ensure that motor vehicles and other means of transportation are parked or operating in compliance with University of Florida rules regulations and policies.

  • Perform parking attendant functions and restrict access to UF parking facilities for special event use as directed by management greet visitors and issue parking permits as needed.

  • Successful completion of UFPD traffic training course in order to assist with gameday parking and traffic duties as needed.

  • Keep all TAPS vehicles clean and orderly and prepare and maintain daily records of activities as required by management.

  • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned by TAPS administration

Normal Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 1.0 FTE Fall/Spring semesters (40 hours per week); .5 FTE Summer semester (up to 20 hours per week as needed); daily schedule TBD by TAPS management

Expected Salary:

$17.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications:

Class E drivers license and completion of at least 9th grade.

Preferred Qualifications:CDL A/B/C with P endorsement and at least a HS diploma.
