Job Summary

This position is responsible for implementing and operating a self-sufficiency program at AHA for families receiving rental subsidies. The Self-Sufficiency Case Manager will carry a caseload of 25-30 families working with them to identify goals increase earned income build assets and achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Beyond direct caseload management this position serves as a strategic liaison to build and maintain community partnerships that deliver site-based opportunities across all family properties. Key initiatives focus on advancing family financial wellness establishing actionable pathways to homeownership and building resident leadership. Additionally the Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency Case Manager will facilitate and support active Resident Councils at two designated properties ensuring resident voices guide community programming and property-level engagement.

  • Manage a dedicated caseload of 25-30 families receiving rental subsidies delivering high-touch individualized support focused on goal setting income progression and long-term self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain a complete accurate understanding of program eligibility guidelines conducting thorough screenings during outreach and recruitment across AHA family properties to ensure participants meet all eligibility criteria and maintain a full active caseload of 2530 households.
  • Meet with participants in person frequently conducting home visits meeting at on-site AHA property offices or connecting at accessible community locations to remove participation barriers.
  • Partner with participating families to apply creative strengths-based problem-solving strategies as barriers arise helping them adjust action steps and stay on track toward their self-sufficiency goals.
  • Utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to empower families to move toward self-identified goals.
  • Implement internal program policies participant expectations and milestone tracking from intake through graduation.
  • Maintain clear transparent and consistent policies regarding access to the savings incentive program ensuring participants understand requirements balance tracking and withdrawal criteria for asset-building milestones.
  • Administer participant goal plans and track milestone achievements earned income growth and savings incentive/asset-building activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely participant records in Resident Connect including case notes community referrals and participant program involvement and progression toward individual goals.
  • Cultivate community partnerships with local financial institutions housing counselors and workforce resources to deliver site-based financial wellness credit building and homeownership readiness opportunities across all family properties.
  • Utilize Resident Connect to log workshop participation track participant attendance and record outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary advisor and liaison for active Resident Councils at two designated properties supporting resident leadership community programming and property-level engagement while collaborating with ECHO staff to bring relevant programming and supportive services to residents.
  • Utilize Resident Connect to track Resident Council attendance engagement metrics and leadership development across designated properties.
  • Collaborate with the broader ECHO team to assist with departmental events as needed including supporting commodities distribution and community building events.
  • Serve strictly as a resource connector and referral agent for residents outside the designated caseload maintaining professional scope and service boundaries.
  • Collaborate with and communicate effectively with residents AHA staff members and community colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Social Work Human Services Psychology Public Administration or a related field required.
  • Minimum 24 years of experience delivering goal-oriented case management financial coaching or resident services within housing or community settings.
  • Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing trauma-informed communication person-centered goal setting and maintaining professional boundaries in community-based work.
  • Demonstrated experience developing partnerships coordinating workshops and advising resident groups or community councils.
  • Experience using client databases (Resident Connect) to document case notes track attendance and report on outcomes alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel Access Teams)

Working Conditions: 

  • Must have the ability to work occasional evenings to accommodate participant availability and attend mandatory evening commitments including twice-monthly Resident Council meetings.

Valid Colorado Driver License and proof of Insurance due to necessary travel amongst various local properties.

Salary range for this role will be $65000-$68000 depending upon experience.
