Job Summary
Job Summary:Operations Specialist is responsible for providing support to the leadership team and employees at the site focusing on training. Coordinate a comprehensive training program for all departments of the production team. Create new SSOPs and SOPs that reflect the dynamic nature of production equipment. Act as a liaison between all shifts and departments including QA and upper management. Maintain an active role in safety committees and ensure OSHA compliance. Conduct facility tours and represent the high standards of SunOpta both at work and in the community. Standardize and share expertise across all departments and shifts in the production facility. Be a part of the SunOpta 360 Operating system and RedZone in all elements working with the team to drive to Functions of the Job:Develop a standardized program for training of new hires and continuous improvement for current as safety model; promote a high level of safety awareness and continuous improvement in safety accident investigations and report LEAN/Continuous Improvement initiatives down to floor in the development of standard operating procedures employee training and process developmentCover all production areas in the facility including Supervisor as and possess the ability to understand troubleshoot and repair processing deficiencies in the production stream and effectively implement new strategies. College degree or certification :Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of production equipment processes and practices. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices is beneficial. Outstanding verbal written multi-tasking and presentation skills. Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change. Bilingual in Spanish is beneficial. Must have a working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint software and be proficient with MS Excel software. Knowledge and Skills:Working knowledge of business computer and math preferred. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team-based environment set priorities to meet deadlines handle multiple tasks and make decisions under pressure being able to work with minimal or no supervision.
