Job Summary

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer in Orlando Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support quality engineering activities within an optical-components manufacturing environment with emphasis on electrical optical and mechanical component assembly integration inspection testing and production quality.

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM-related discipline with 2 years of professional experience masters degree with 0 years of experience or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • 2 years of GD&T experience.
  • 2 years of SAP experience.
  • 2 years of APRISO experience.
  • 2 years of Root Cause Analysis experience using methods such as 5-Why Fishbone Cause Mapping or similar techniques.
  • 2 years of experience preparing and delivering technical presentations.
  • 2 years of experience conducting First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements.
  • Experience supporting quality engineering in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience reviewing manufacturing and inspection documentation for compliance with quality requirements.
  • Experience evaluating inspection and test results.
  • Ability to assess product and material risk when specifications or standards are not met.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • Optical manufacturing or optics experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Strong AS9102 interpretation and application experience.
  • Additional First Article Inspection experience.
  • Experience supporting electrical optical or mechanical component assembly and integration.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.

What Youll Do

  • Develop and review quality standards inspection methods work instructions and test procedures.
  • Support inspection and testing of manufactured and procured products.
  • Design and analyze inspection and test processes methods mechanisms and equipment.
  • Evaluate product test results and perform statistical analysis.
  • Assess risk associated with products or materials that do not meet required standards or specifications.
  • Review internal and supplier manufacturing documentation for quality compliance.
  • Participate in and lead Failure Review Boards and technical investigations.
  • Participate in Material Review Board activities.
  • Make product acceptability decisions based on applicable quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement new inspection processes and automation methods.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Perform special-process assessments and audits.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102.
  • Interface with customers engineering manufacturing and program personnel on quality-related issues.

Pay

  • $53.65 per hour.
