Operations Maritimes Planner
Job Summary
The Opportunity:
As a Current Operations Maritime Planner supporting the SCOPES Program at USSOUTHCOM you will support the Joint Task ForceWestern Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) by planning coordinating and synchronizing current maritime operations across the theater. You will monitor maritime activities assess emerging operational requirements and integrate information from naval coast guard joint coalition and interagency partners to maintain an accurate maritime operational picture. Your expertise will provide senior leaders with timely situational awareness support operational decision-making and ensure unity of effort across the maritime domain.
Responsibilities:
Monitor assess and synchronize current maritime operations to maintain an accurate and comprehensive maritime operational picture across the theater.
Collect analyze and integrate information from Joint Service coalition partner nation and interagency organizations to identify significant maritime activities emerging issues and operational impacts.
Coordinate with maritime component commands Joint Task Forces and external mission partners to synchronize current operations and support maritime mission execution.
Prepare and deliver operational reports executive summaries briefings and other decision support products for senior leaders higher headquarters and mission partners.
Monitor emerging operational requirements identify potential risks and recommend courses of action to support timely operational decision-making.
Utilize Command and Control (C2) systems maritime domain awareness tools and collaboration platforms to maintain situational awareness and support current operations.
Advise commanders and operational planners on maritime operational developments coordination requirements and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness and decision advantage.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Minimum of 3 years of military experience supporting maritime naval or Coast Guard operations within a Combatant Command Fleet Joint Task Force Service Component Headquarters or equivalent operational headquarters.
Experience planning monitoring and synchronizing current maritime operations in support of joint or multinational missions.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced operational environments make time-sensitive analytical assessments and support crisis or contingency operations.
Knowledge of joint doctrine maritime operations and coordination with higher headquarters component commands and interagency partners.
Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) systems maritime domain awareness platforms and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook PowerPoint Excel Word and OneNote.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including experience developing executive-level reports operational products and senior leader briefings.
Desired:
Experience supporting maritime operations centers Joint Operations Centers or theater-level current operations staffs.
Experience supporting joint exercises contingency operations or multinational maritime operations.
Knowledge of maritime domain awareness capabilities operational reporting processes and theater-level command and control integration.
