Job Summary
For over seven decades investor-owned utilities municipalities cooperatives and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company Inc. (Elliot).
Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution transmission substations lighting traffic signaling utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
Job Description
The Operations Manager leads the Divisions traffic signal roadway lighting service and construction operations ensuring work is completed safely efficiently on schedule within budget and to high quality standards. This role is accountable for operational and financial performance providing leadership to project managers supervisors and field teams while fostering a culture of safety accountability teamwork and continuous improvement. The Operations Manager drives process improvements develops employees resolves operational challenges and ensures exceptional customer satisfaction and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operational activities and project execution.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies industry regulations and quality standards.
- Manage resource allocation workforce planning schedules and budgets.
- Support project managers and field leadership to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Monitor operational performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Develop mentor and promote high-performing employees and future leaders.
- Foster a culture of safety accountability teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers vendors and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in construction management Engineering Business Administration or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Progressive leadership experience in construction utility infrastructure traffic substation or related operations management.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects teams and operational budgets.
- Strong understanding of construction methods project management principles and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to lead motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to manage profitability and operational performance.
- Proficiency with project management software scheduling tools and Microsoft Office applications.
