MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to support the operation inspection maintenance and repair of commercial building systems. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe efficient and reliable operation of mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC equipment while maintaining a high standard of building performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working in commercial facilities.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and respond to service requests for mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and other building systems.
Inspect building equipment and identify maintenance needs to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
Troubleshoot repair and maintain HVAC systems including replacing filters belts and cleaning coils.
Perform lighting maintenance including replacing lamps ballasts switches and fixtures.
Maintain and repair building equipment and facility infrastructure as needed.
Complete work orders accurately and update maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Read and interpret blueprints equipment manuals and technical documentation.
Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all company safety policies and procedures.
Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Assist with general building maintenance projects and support facility operations as required.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED; technical training in HVAC electrical plumbing or building maintenance preferred.
Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical equipment.
Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs independently.
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical manuals and equipment specifications.
Valid drivers license.
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
Comfortable working on ladders and elevated work areas up to 30 feet.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Stationary Engineer License or similar mechanical certification.
EPA Universal (608) Certification.
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management systems.
Electrical or plumbing trade certifications.
OSHA safety certifications.
Experience maintaining multi-tenant commercial office buildings healthcare facilities industrial facilities or other large commercial properties.
