POSITION SPECIFICS
The Supply Chain & Information Systems (SCIS) Department of the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park PA) invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position in Business Analytics & Information Systems for a Fall 2027 start date. Salary is competitive.
Candidates must have a PhD degree in information systems or related field by the appointment start date. Those who are in the final stages of completing a PhD program will be considered for appointments as an Assistant Professor.A strong commitment to research and teaching excellence is at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a demonstrated record of high-quality research and teaching commensurate with rank as well as a sufficient number of publications in high-quality journals and a demonstrated significant impact of their work on the field. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active research program perform undergraduate and graduate teaching supervise graduate students and engage in service activities.
The SCIS Department comprises a vibrant research-active faculty with research and teaching interests in information systems that include artificial intelligence digital platforms business analytics and blockchain. The department offers degree programs in supply chain management business analytics & information systems and AI and business transformation. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in information systems with a desired emphasis on artificial intelligence that would complement the faculty with high-quality research and teaching in student-centered and collaborative learning environments.
The Smeal College of Business offers a collegial working environment and excellent campus facilities. The College is home to the Center for Supply Chain Research ( which advances cutting-edge research and outreach in supply chain management. The SCIS Department ( also has strong connections with the business community through various research centers that provide opportunities to collaborate with faculty across disciplines within Smeal and across Penn State.
