PROGRAM ASSISTANT I
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4495 - $4720/month; $53940 - $56640/year
Full Salary Range: $4495 - $7190/month; $53940 - $86280/year

- About the Work UnitThe Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (OMMIR) was established in 2022 through Senate Bill 22-150 and exists to serve as a liaison on behalf of the indigenous community on issues related to missing or murdered indigenous relatives. To achieve this goal the unit conducts the following statewide activities:
- Develops and enhances partnerships with Tribal Law Enforcement and communities;
- Collaborates with any relevant entities including the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs federally recognized tribes indigenous-led organizations tribal and local law enforcement agencies the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Colorado State Patrol;
- Staffing and support of the Community Volunteer Advisory Board;
- Provides information to families on how to report a missing or murdered loved one;
- Collaborates with state and local partners to develop training and education.
- Helps connect families with resources;
- Reporting out and responding to questions from the legislature and the general public.
Work EnvironmentHybrid two days per week minimum in the Lakewood office
Work unit core business hours Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility available
About the JobThis position provides administrative and programmatic support to the Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives. The position provides internal and external customer support. Duties include providing general administrative assistance and support for the OMMIR providing logistical support and preparation for meetings and events communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
Administration and Program Support
Provides the Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives administrative support which includes but is not limited to general administrative assistance and support for the Office Director and other staff providing logistical support and preparation for meetings and events synthesizes and disseminates pertinent information to internal staff and external stakeholders. Facilitates information sharing with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
Customer Service and Support
Position provides internal and external customer support. Answers incoming calls and emails screens and directs calls and takes messages. Prepares provides and exchanges information with external customers and the OMMIR Director and other staff and refers them to the appropriate resources.
Website Management and Accessibility of DocumentsThis position is responsible for the maintenance of documents on the OMMIR website pages in collaboration with the DCJ public information officer (PIO) including the addition of new material to the website removal of old material and the creation of new pages. Ensures compliance with digital accessibility regulations and requirements.
Position receives sorts and distributes inquiries and information related to missing and murdered individuals and subsequent investigations. Position may be asked to perform other duties to meet the mission of the OMMIR. Position performs other duties as assigned or requested by the OMMIR Director Division of Criminal Justice Director or their designees. This position often performs unusual tasks when the unique nature of the program requires it. This position acts as back-up support when appropriate for others DCJ positions performing similar tasks (e.g. an Administrative or Program Assistant on family leave etc.).

Proven Experience Knowledge Skills
Four (4) years of professional administrative support experience including providing program support to an individual or a team
A combination of related education and relevant experience equal to four (4) years. If you are using education to meet the minimum qualifications transcripts must be attached at the time of application.

Conditions of Employment
Must be a Colorado resident at the time of application.
Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam a fingerprint based criminal history search reference checking and a driving history.
Current valid drivers license at time of hire and must obtain a Colorado-issued drivers license within 30 days of hire. Ability to operate motor vehicles and to travel throughout the state in a variety of weather conditions.
