Description of Work
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is seeking a dependable organized and customer-focused Office Assistant to join our team. The Office Assistant provides administrative support to the First Sergeant in the overall function of a District Operation. The Office Assistant will assist with daily office functions.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

- Provide general administrative and clerical support
- Answer and direct telephone calls emails and other inquiries
- Prepare organize and maintain files
- Managing inventory and special projects
Recruitment Range: $39244-$48739 Annually

- Experience working in a professional governmental or public service environment
- Previous administrative or clerical experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Teams or similar applications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to Prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Typical work schedule: Monday Friday:8:00am-5:00pm

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
AND
two years of related administrative experience;

Veterans and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veterans Preference must attach a DD Form 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty along with the state application.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS) along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22 along with the state application.
