Job Description Summary
The Office and Event Assistant provides administrative operational and event support for the Department of Chemistry. This position assists with office functions inventory management departmental events and special projects while helping maintain an organized and professional environment for students faculty staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
Provide general office and administrative support to departmental staff and faculty. Assist with planning organizing and supporting departmental events meetings workshops and special programs. Help maintain office and supply room inventory including monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and organization. Update and maintain inventory records and departmental documentation. Assist the Chemistry Coordinator with event logistics preparation setup and cleanup. Support KC 290 assistants and departmental staff with various office duties and special projects. Learn and utilize university and departmental systems as needed. Assist with data entry filing copying scanning and document organization. Provide professional customer service to students faculty staff and visitors. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Current Chapman University student in good academic standing. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software and systems. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats. Dependable responsible and able to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
