New Graduates: May be considered with significant ICU nursing experience
License: Active or eligible Alabama APRN license

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Perform histories physical examinations and ongoing patient evaluations.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans in collaboration with intensivists and supervising physicians.
  • Order interpret and evaluate laboratory tests imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Manage ventilator-dependent patients and patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Perform critical care procedures within scope of practice and credentialing including arterial lines central venous access and other applicable procedures.
  • Respond to medical emergencies rapid response calls and code situations.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Coordinate patient care plans with physicians nurses specialists and ancillary departments.
  • Provide patients and families with education regarding treatment plans and prognosis.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement and continuing education initiatives.
