Job Summary
The Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Nuclear Quality Assurance Program in accordance with ASME Section III NQA-1 and applicable federal regulations for Zachry Nuclear Inc.. This role ensures the effective execution of quality assurance activities across construction projects fabrication facilities suppliers and additional work locations.
Responsibilities
Maintain the NQA Program as described in the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual and supporting programs and assist in further development of the program.
Develop project-specific inspection & test plans inspection documents and quality procedures.
Ensure that projects are in compliance with ASME Section III and NQA-1 requirements.
Monitor quality verification inspections and surveillances at job sites.
Ensure project quality procedures and records are implemented and maintained.
Assist as requested the Nuclear Lead Auditor with internal and external quality audits and assessments for projects suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure quality documentation including audit reports supplier evaluations and inspection records are complete and maintained.
Collaborate with engineering project management and procurement teams to identify prioritize and address potential quality concerns.
Support the PDNQA in management assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assurance that training requirements are met for all ZNI employees suppliers and subcontractors
Qualifications
Education
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in an engineering or construction-related discipline from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Required:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial quality role with at 5 years of specific nuclear construction experience and 3 years in a QA role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive experience in nuclear quality assurance preferably in ASME Section III and NQA-1 construction environments.
Experience with Commercial Grade Dedication supplier qualification and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Experience leading cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
Experience with supplier qualification construction QA and regulatory compliance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
General office environment with periodic exposure to construction site conditions.
Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work environment is fast-paced and may vary based on project demands.
