Job Summary
Key Focus Areas:
- Architectural Governance:Enforce integrated technical standards and design patterns ensuring consistency across all project-level controls strategies.
- Systemic Integrity Oversight:Provide an overarching technical safety lens. While Project Engineers (PEs) manage individual delivery you ensure that technical safety and reliability margins remain uncompromised throughout the lifecycle of complex multi-discipline integrations.
- Complexity Management:Act as a technical authority for high-risk/high-complexity integration scenarios that require navigation beyond standard procedures.
- Strategic Interface & Requirements:Own the glue between requirements. Define how overlapping value streams interact to ensure that technical dependencies are transparent traceable and validated for quality.
- Technical Enablement:Audit verification / validation (V&V) frameworks and mentor technical leads to foster a culture of rigorous unified systems engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define System Standards:Establish an integration framework for control system requirements architecture and V&V methodologies for the Nuclear fleet.
- Strategic Technical Advisory:Provide high-level guidance during critical project phases (ITO EKO Factory Customer Witness and Site Commissioning) specifically targeting the resolution of cross-functional design gaps.
- Drive Design Cohesion:Partner with Value Stream owners to dissolve silos between Turbine Mechanical Generator Electrical HMI/Cyber and distributed plant controls domains.
Align with Engineering Design Packaging team to deliver integrated solutions that interface well to customer systems - Regulatory & Safety Advocacy:Represent the business as an expert regarding nuclear safety-critical design standards; influence product roadmaps to ensure compliance with the evolving global regulatory landscape.
- Influence-Based Leadership:Mentor and develop the engineering pipeline. Champion a System-Level Mindset ensuring every engineer understands their contribution to the broader nuclear plant operational profile.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Nuclear or Computer Engineering.
- 10 years of technical leadership experience within the nuclear power generation industry.
- Expert-level command of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems within highly regulated safety-critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience defining technical requirements design patterns and safety frameworks within a complex matrixed engineering organization.
Desired Characteristics:
- Influence without Authority:Exceptional ability to align cross-functional technical teams toward a common objective without direct line authority over project execution.
- Systems Integration Fluency:Deep understanding of the interplay between I&C platforms electrical power systems and Nuclear Balance-of-Plant (BOP) operations.
- Architectural Defense:Proven ability to lead high-stakes technical reviews and successfully defend complex system architectures to internal stakeholders and external regulators.
- Strategic Clarity:A gift for distilling multi-layered system-level technical challenges into actionable executable strategies.
- Modern Methodology:Practical experience with Agile methodologies as applied to complex large-scale control system development.
