Job Summary
Activities include but are not limited to general nursing assistance inventory and supply management within the area housekeeping duties records management laboratory assistance computer data management and clerical duties. Routinely interacts with patient families medical nursing and ancillary staff and persons outside of Mercy Health System.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.
Education: High school diploma basic computer skills.
Licensure: None.
Experience: Previous nurse assistant or other patient contract experience helpful. Strong familiarity with medical documentation process and with medical terminology.
Certification/Registration: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card of complete a course within their probationary period.
Other: Ability to multi-task in an occasionally tense/pressured setting. Exceptional communication skills in face-to-face encounters with other health professionals and the public. Able to function effectively with newborns and new parents. Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to function in a team-oriented work environment and a willingness to do whatever is needed for the process to be successful. Excellent work attendance dependability and daily performance. Willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to changes in workload. Working Conditions Mental and Physical Requirements: Meet unit specific physical demands. May be required to work differing shifts days of the week or work frequency according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids. May be called up to transport items to different areas of the hospital. Equipment Used: Unit Specific: Assorted radiant warmers isolettes cribs ventilators oxyhoods pulse oxymetry cardio-respiratory monitors IV pumps phototherapy computers and other NICU/NBN equipment as necessary.
