The Network Systems Engineer will support Cyber Security Defensive Operations through the engineering integration automation and sustainment of a large-scale Cyber Range consisting of hundreds to thousands of virtual machines. This role focuses on designing configuring and maintaining networked cyber environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform Ansible VMware and other automation technologies.
You will work closely with Red Hunt Blue and JCMA Team operators to understand mission requirements and engineer Cyber Range environments that support training force-on-force exercises and the emulation of customer infrastructures. Working alongside Network Engineers Systems Engineers Software Engineers and System Administrators you will develop and implement scalable automated infrastructure solutions supporting complex cyber operations.
When not supporting Cyber Range activities you will contribute to mission operations within the Cyber Security Directorates Defensive Network Operations organization by engineering integrating and sustaining operational network infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Network Engineering Systems Engineering Information Technology or a related technical field plus 12 or more years of relevant experience
Experience engineering and supporting enterprise network infrastructure including networking technologies virtualization and operational environments.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) including Terraform and Ansible automation.
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash PowerShell Python or Batch.
Experience with Arista Cisco and Juniper networking platforms along with configuring and integrating cybersecurity tools and operational network infrastructure.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems application behavior and network traffic analysis in support of cyber operations.
Security Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments.
- Experience with Kubernetes Docker or other container technologies.
- Knowledge of penetration testing Hunt Red Team or Defensive Cyber Operations.
- Experience with Splunk administration or engineering.
- Experience supporting Nutanix environments.
- Experience supporting Defensive Cyber Security Operations.
