Job Summary:
The Junior Technical Specialist in Raleigh NC supports the NC DIT-Transportation Accounts Team by providing advanced technical expertise in account and access management particularly with Active Directory. This hybrid role involves remote work with occasional onsite presence for training and equipment collection. The specialist ensures IT security compliance resolves technical incidents and leads projects to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:- Analyze and modify accounts for new and existing employees.
- Troubleshoot data and application access issues and adjust Active Directory properties as needed.
- Receive log and document requests and incidents using ServiceNow providing resolutions and weekly status reports to management.
- Implement IT Security Office requirements to protect data from unauthorized access or misuse.
- Provide advanced support and guidance across a broad range of technologies.
- Lead projects direct team efforts and report project status to management.
- Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures aligned with operational and service level agreements.
- Maintain awareness of DOT and ITS security policies and apply them in daily operations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering Microsoft Active Directory 2008/2012 in multi-site multi-domain environments.
- Strong knowledge of account management and IT security measures.
- Proven ability to analyze client needs and develop effective technical solutions.
- Experience using ServiceNow for incident management and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated customer orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong initiative and time management.
- Current residence in North Carolina is mandatory.
- Project management experience with ability to lead teams and coordinate work.
- Experience with IT infrastructure operations and security in transportation or government environments.
- Familiarity with DOT and ITS security policies and standards.
- Advanced troubleshooting and system analysis capabilities.
- This is a hybrid role requiring remote work with occasional onsite visits for training and equipment pickup.
- First day onsite attendance is mandatory for equipment collection.
- Absences longer than two weeks require prior approval and must include reachable contact information.
- Candidate must comply with all IT security policies and protect sensitive data accordingly.
- Work schedule primarily remote with occasional onsite requirements.
- Standard business hours with potential flexibility as needed for project and operational demands.
