Position Highlights
The Multimedia Design Coordinator supports University Advancements marketing and donor relations efforts by creating engaging visual content across print and digital platforms. Working closely with the Multimedia Designer and Marketing and Donor Relations team this role helps develop marketing materials that bring University Advancements stories and initiatives to life.
The position offers the opportunity to contribute throughout the creative processfrom concept development and design through production and quality reviewwhile collaborating with colleagues and cross-functional partners. It is an ideal opportunity for an emerging designer looking to strengthen their skills in a collaborative environment.
As a Multimedia Design Coordinator you will support the conceptualization design and production of visual assets across various mediumssupporting various marketing and educational initiatives of RIT University Advancement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Graphic Design and Layout: Create visually appealing designs for marketing materials. Apply principles of layout typography and color theory to deliver designs that engage and target audiences.
- Design Support: Assist in the development and execution of creative concepts for print and digital projects. Contribute ideas and solutions that align with divisional objectives and brand guidelines.
- Production and File Preparation: Prepare design files for production ensuring accuracy consistency and adherence to technical specifications.
- Project Coordination and Communication: Assist in project coordination and communication including scheduling meetings organizing files and managing project timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of creative projects.
- Quality Assurance and Revision: Assist in the review and revision of design deliverables to ensure accuracy quality and consistency. Incorporate feedback from clients and team members to refine designs and improve overall project outcomes.
- Creative Research Inspiration and Professional Development: Stay abreast of design trends emerging technologies and best practices in graphic design and digital media. Seek out learning opportunities and skill development activities to enhance your design skills and expand your knowledge of design principles software tools and industry trends.

Within University Advancement the Alumni & Constituent Engagement team develops programs events communications and volunteer opportunities that strengthen lifelong relationships with the university and inspire engagement with the RIT community. Through collaboration service and relationship-building the team supports RITs mission and helps create lasting impact for students alumni and the university.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports multimedia project coordination working closely with other designers and departments to ensure project requirements are met
- Drafts initial designs for multimedia content including digital graphics videos and interactive media aligning with the universitys visual identity
- Utilizes and stays current with the latest design technologies and software to produce high-quality innovative content
- Helps maintain a consistent visual identity across all media outputs aligning with the universitys design standards
- Assists in managing project timelines and budgets ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within specified financial parameters
- Works alongside other design and marketing professionals to brainstorm critique and refine multimedia content that meets strategic objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of graphic design principles tools and applications
- Knowledge of website design and development
- Ability to design prepare and edit creative content directed at specific audiences using design requirements parameters timeline and budget
- Skill in multi-tasking project management prioritization and organization
- Skill in oral and written communication with the Ability to present design ideas and concepts clearly to business partners technical staff and end users ensuring a shared understanding across diverse stakeholders
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in related field
- No experience required
- Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
Job Level Overview
Operations Administrative Service or Technical Support Level 2 - An intermediate level role with working foundational knowledge and skills to perform routine and occasionally non-routine tasks. Tasks may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. May provide assistance to entry level staff.
