Responsibilities:
- Practices high quality patient care. Utilizes two patient identification reviews orders and history to ensure appropriate procedure and imaging site is indicated. Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed. Coordinates approval with implant vendor and/or radiologist for non-MR conditional implanted devices prior to imaging. Assist Anesthesiologists and RNs for patients who undergo general sedation for the MRI exam. Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment. Performs MRI procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patients safety and comfort. Administers contrast materials as required. Initiates emergency response to contrast reaction as needed. Obtains and reviews images to ensure appropriate technical factors and protocol utilizing annotations for best image quality. Utilizes EMR/RIS PACS and other ancillary image management systems. Rotates throughout the department and/or hospital locations as staffing and volume dictates. Participates in orientation training and in-servicing of staff as needed.
- Plans schedules and coordinates daily workflow for the department. This may include contacting patients and/or offices to coordinate care. Maintains an orderly clean and safe environment for patients and staff of assigned area. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned. Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed. Ensures work environment is free from MR safety hazards. Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associates Preferred
- 6 months clinical experience via employment or training Required
- ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Certification One of the following is required prior to start date: Current licensure in one of the following modalities:
ARRT
NMTCB
ARMRIT
ARDMS
U.S. military Radiology General Procedures training program
ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT within a year of hire.
Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required
