We are seeking an experienced Mold Manufacturing Manager to lead mold manufacturing operations for a well-established custom plastic injection mold manufacturer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing mold construction repair maintenance machining operations tool room activities and project execution from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in plastic injection mold manufacturing along with strong leadership abilities to drive quality productivity efficiency and on-time delivery. This position will work closely with engineering quality and manufacturing teams while providing direct leadership to mold makers machinists EDM operators and tool room personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily mold manufacturing operations to ensure quality safety productivity and delivery goals are achieved.
• Manage mold build projects from design release through final assembly testing and completion.
• Provide hands-on support for mold construction repair maintenance fitting spotting assembly and troubleshooting activities.
• Supervise and mentor Mold Makers Toolmakers CNC Machinists EDM Operators and Tool Room personnel.
• Coordinate staffing project priorities scheduling and resource allocation to meet customer deadlines.
• Review engineering drawings mold designs and manufacturing plans to ensure manufacturability and quality requirements.
• Support and oversee machining operations including CNC Milling Surface Grinding Lathe Operations Wire EDM and Sinker EDM.
• Troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to improve mold performance and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with Engineering Manufacturing Quality and Project Management teams throughout mold build projects.
• Monitor project schedules labor utilization budgets and tooling costs.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for molds and tooling equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency throughput quality and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and best manufacturing practices.
• Participate in customer meetings and technical reviews as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical training Tool & Die Mold Maker or related certifications are preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in custom plastic injection mold manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership supervisory or management experience within a mold manufacturing or tool room environment.
• Extensive hands-on experience building repairing troubleshooting and maintaining plastic injection molds.
• Strong knowledge of mold construction mold components hot runner systems cooling systems and mold actions.
• Experience operating or supporting CNC Mills Surface Grinders Lathes Wire EDM and Sinker EDM equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints CAD models and manufacturing specifications.
• Strong understanding of mold manufacturing processes tolerances tooling standards and quality requirements.
• Experience managing multiple mold build projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership communication organizational and problem-solving skills

• Journeyman Toolmaker Mold Maker or Tool & Die certification.
• Experience with Mastercam SolidWorks Creo or similar CAD/CAM software.
• Experience supporting medical automotive packaging consumer products or high-precision mold manufacturing programs.
• Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Continuous Improvement or Process Optimization experience.
