About the role
We are looking for a Mine Controller to support surface mining operations through real-time fleet coordination and control room execution.
Reporting to the Mine Control Supervisor on a rotating 5/5/4 day / night shift roster and working collaboratively with operational and functional teams you will be responsible for:
Monitoring and controlling real-time mining activities using MineStar Fleet Management System
Executing and adjusting the daily and shift plan to achieve safe production targets
Optimizing haulage performance by managing equipment allocation and minimizing delays
Coordinating material movement to ensure alignment with the mine plan
Maintaining accurate fleet data and system integrity within MineStar
Communicating with field operators supervisors and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
Responding to operational disruptions including emergencies to minimize downtime and maintain safe production flow
Tracking performance metrics and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining shift logs reports and operational records
About you
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Experience in surface mining operations ideally within load and haul
Previous experience in control room operations dispatch or similar role
Experience using Fleet Management Systems preferably MineStar
Strong understanding of truck and shovel operations
Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
Strong communication and coordination skills
High attention to detail and problem-solving capability

Where youll be working
Our Kennecott mine is a world-class fully integrated copper mining operation including a concentrator smelter and refinery located just outside Salt Lake City Utah in the United States. We produce copper precious metals including gold and silver molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
