THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MILITARY FUNERAL HONOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR Position Description Number Dand is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters National Guard.


Duties

As a MILITARY FUNERAL HONORS PROGRAM COORDINATOR GS you will perform program development and the coordination of functions for the Military Funeral Honors Program (MFHP) which provides military funeral honor ceremonies for service members and veterans. The position serves as an agency coordinator for the statewide MFHP in promotion and coordination of the program through the education of the States National Guard active component veterans service organizations and other Veterans advocacy groups. Develops implements interprets and publishes SOPs policies operating regulations and procedures. Plan develop schedule and makes recommendation for changes to MFHP. Responsible for creating a cooperative network of agencies organizations and individuals whose interactions can lead to an improved Military Funeral Honors Program. Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

  • KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications

Military Grades: E-6 through O-3

Compatible Military Assignments: 00F/01A

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization management and administration. Compiling reports letters memoranda etc. and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year specialized experience education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level providing technical guidance and assistance and a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices. Knowledge or training with Interpretation and development of SOPs policies procedures and operating regulations development and coordination of the training associated with the program and coordinating the daily activities and functions of the program. The ability to continually analyzing and identifying problems with the administrative functions of the program.
