Mid Level SQL Database Administrator

Full-time Remote One opening Contingent upon contract award

Salary: $100000 annually

TSG Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level SQL Database Administrator to support the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO). This position will provide database administration development and maintenance as part of a four-person SQL and Oracle team supporting enterprise applications.

• Create configure and maintain SQL Server databases and support SQL Cluster environments across on-premises and cloud systems.
• Troubleshoot database server and application integration issues; investigate root causes and perform SQL query and database tuning.
• Execute approved installations patching and maintenance; manage assigned ServiceNow incidents and change requests.
• Perform and validate backups and restores; implement and test high availability failover and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor database health and capacity using Idera and SolarWinds; tune alerts and assist with monitoring dashboards.
• Develop database scripts and automation document changes and resolutions and submit weekly activity reports.

• At least four years of database administration experience with relevant SQL expertise; DBA II equivalent.
• Demonstrated proficiency with SQL Server SQL Clustering and SQL scripting including standalone database creation and management.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting performance tuning installation and patching backup and recovery and high availability.
• Ability to work independently collaborate across technical and business teams and communicate clearly with staff and management.
• A detailed resume demonstrating relevant experience is required. Professional SQL certifications are strongly recommended.

Demonstrated expertise across SQL SQL Server SQL Clustering SQL scripting Oracle PL/SQL Oracle Grid Oracle RMAN PostgreSQL MySQL MariaDB and MS Access. Work includes database support for application integrations such as SharePoint.

Work remotely under GPO IT security policies with eight hours of daily availability within the 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. core window. Periodic after-hours patching reboots and support will be scheduled in advance. Remain available through Microsoft Teams while on duty. GPO provides a laptop and RSA security token.
