Job Summary
Microsofts Cloud Operations & Innovation (COI) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As aMetro Build Program Manager you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsofts online services including Bing Office 365 Xbox OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities
As a Metro Build Program Manager your success will be measured by:
Data Center Build Operations
- Establish positive working relationships with construction stakeholders
- Attend all metro new build expansion and retrofit project related design construction and commissioning meetings
- Be the liaison between Construction and Operations (be the voice for Operations) and escalate any issues that could cause impact
- Participate in all Construction/Operations walkthroughs as well as routine construction inspections during the builds
- Coordinate and execute turnover operations ensure turnover checklist is completed and validated and all turnover artifacts are delivered on time
- Document and report lessons learned from each project
Service Delivery
- Balance leadership influence skills supportive individual contributions project management and expertise in enterprise-level operations
- Monitor services and KPIs OKRs SLAs and OLAs and report trends and service anomalies
- Keep track of all the latest and upcoming key milestones and deliverables
- Lead key processes such as team and triage meetings prioritizes work across the team and rebalances priorities to respond to changes
- Standardize infrastructure equipment processes and workflows through design construction and turnover of these world class facilities
- Assist with new facility design & commissioning coordinating to installation of core network infrastructures

Ownership
- In alignment with management priorities hold self accountable for the end-to-end service quality completeness and resulting customer experience (including but not limited to availability safety security customer service)
- Support escalation of issues to appropriate owner
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3 years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR equivalent experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Technical College Degree in Computer Science Math Telecommunications Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Supply Chain Management or related field AND 8 years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g. UPS Generator AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers SANs Networking Capacity DC Rack/Enclosures structured cabling) OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 10 years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g. UPS Generator AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers SANs Networking Capacity DC Rack/Enclosures structured cabling) OR equivalent experience
- Applicable certifications: APICS/Inventory Control CompTIA Microsoft Network Certifications CCNA Certifications ITIL v3 Foundation Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Certifications
- 3 years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g. UPS Generator AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers SANs Networking Capacity DC Rack/Enclosures structured cabling)
Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102600 - $202800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137500 - $225800 per year.
