The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a MEMS Sensor Development Engineer to join our Heart Failure R&D team in Atlanta GA. This role will contribute to the development integration characterization and verification of next-generation implantable MEMS pressure sensor technology. The successful candidate will work across MEMS sensor development microelectronics packaging precision mechanical assemblies reliability engineering and product verification. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical fundamentals exceptional analytical ability intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated history of academic and/or professional achievement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the design development and integration of implantable MEMS sensor systems assemblies and packaging solutions.
- Design and develop fixtures tooling prototypes and precision mechanical assemblies for product development activities.
- Support development testing and troubleshooting of sensor communication systems including low-power wireless NFC RFID or related telemetry technologies.
- Develop and execute engineering studies to characterize sensor performance reliability and design robustness.
- Perform failure analysis root-cause investigations and reliability assessments to improve product robustness.
- Analyze experimental data identify trends and failure modes and communicate conclusions through engineering reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on MEMS packaging assembly processes and prototype builds.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Microelectronics Engineering Chemical Engineering Applied Physics MEMS or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing prototyping testing troubleshooting or characterizing engineering systems devices components or processes.
- Experience working with laboratory instrumentation fixtures prototypes electromechanical systems sensors or measurement equipment.
- Ability to analyze technical data draw practical conclusions and communicate results clearly.
- Strong problem-solving ability ownership attention to detail and willingness to learn new technical areas quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems through rigorous analytical and engineering approaches.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MEMS sensor development characterization manufacturing or integration.
- Experience with semiconductor packaging MEMS packaging wafer-level packaging die attach wire bonding or hermetic sealing.
- Experience with mechanical design precision assemblies tolerance analysis fixture development or product development.
- Experience with electrical characterization automated test systems data acquisition NFC RFID low-power wireless communication or sensor-system integration.
- Experience with reliability testing failure analysis environmental testing or accelerated life testing.
- Experience with statistical analysis design of experiments (DOE) JMP Minitab Python or similar engineering analysis tools.
- Demonstrated excellence in academic research internship or engineering project achievements.

The base pay for this position is
$55300.00 $110700.00In specific locations the pay range may vary from the range posted.
