Job Description:

Customer Service Consultant

Role Summary

Customer Service Consultants serve as the first point of contact for MH clients. This role includes processing client requests providing basic technical media support coordinating spaces and equipment and supporting daily front-desk operations.

Position Duties

Greet students staff and faculty and respond to general multimedia support inquiries.

Create process and manage media production requests and equipment checkout/check-in orders.

Answer multiple phone lines and monitor email accounts and web-based collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom).

Process web- and email-based service requests in MH systems.

Schedule presentation classrooms interview rooms studios and media lab reservations.

Provide scheduled technical support for classrooms studios and media computer labs.

Perform opening and closing office procedures.

Maintain clean organized and welcoming public and work spaces.

Perform copying sorting filing and basic administrative tasks.

Organize and maintain office files and forms.

Assist with communications and administrative programming.

Escort users to and from secure areas as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Equipment / Studio Maintenance & Support Consultant

Role Summary

Equipment and Studio Maintenance Consultants ensure MH equipment studios and presentation spaces are clean organized and fully operational while providing a positive customer service experience.

Position Duties

Clean organize and maintain media equipment storage areas and shelving.

Prepare equipment kits for checkout ensuring all components are present and in good order.

Clean and manage laptops and media equipment following data storage and privacy protocols.

Accurately document equipment status inventory and usage in Media Hub systems.

Identify document and report damaged or non-functional equipment to leadership.

Set up support and tear down presentation classrooms interview rooms and recording studios.

Ensure studio and presentation technology is operational and assist with basic troubleshooting as needed.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to media technologies and productivity tools.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Production Consultant

Role Summary

Production Consultants provide basic production services including large-format printing lamination mounting and finishing. This role emphasizes quality control organization and compliance with OSU guidelines while delivering excellent customer service.

Position Duties

Process production orders including poster printing trimming mounting laminating binding scanning and packaging.

Verify that all production files comply with OSU Brand Guidelines prior to printing.

Use appropriate software tools to ensure file accuracy including fonts images and layout.

Maintain organized digital and physical file storage using defined naming and retention practices.

Maintain a clean safe and organized production workspace.

Successfully complete knife safety training and follow all safety procedures.

Follow established production workflows and processes.

Notify leadership of equipment issues tool damage or order discrepancies.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Social Media Consultant

Role Summary

Social Media Consultants support MH communications by creating and publishing visual content. This role requires creativity technical proficiency and the ability to work independently while following OSU and Media Hub standards.

Position Duties

Create photo and video content that aligns with OSU Brand Guidelines and MH standards.

Conceptualize storyboard capture and edit media content using approved tools and techniques.

Demonstrate familiarity with camera operation lighting lenses framing and composition.

Capture edit publish and distribute media content with leadership approval.

Execute post-production workflows following OSU and MH standard practices.

Provide courteous customer service and respond to general support questions as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Term Hours: Office Hours: M-Th 10am 9:00pm; F 10am 6pm; Sun 3pm 9pm

Break Hours: M-F 10am-5:30pm

  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Demonstrated strong customer service skills with a positive friendly attitude.

    Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    Ability to take direction follow instructions and exercise good judgment.

    Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    Interest in multimedia technologies including audio/video equipment and software photography graphic applications and web design.

    General knowledge of multimedia tools and software such as Final Cut Pro iMovie and Adobe Creative Suite.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Publisher PowerPoint and Excel.

    Basic computer and technology troubleshooting skills.
