Hatch is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineering Intern. Reporting to theProject Delivery Group you will support offices globally working from ourPittsburgh PAoffice location.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Assist in preparing engineering calculations such as hydraulic modeling stress analysis equipment sizing and tank and ensuring that all analyses satisfy user and system requirements
  • Prepare technical specifications based on input received
  • Prepare data sheets based on input received
  • Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria
  • Prepare or provide input to 2D mechanical drawings
  • Prepare and update engineering lists

  • Understanding of inter-discipline requirements for the tasks at hand
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Commitment to achieving engineering excellence
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to various practical problems
  • A desire to learn and continually develop
  • Strong personal commitment to safety
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset

  • Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff clients and vendors
  • Available to travel as needed to help support global business
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset

  • Perform assignments related to your sector
  • Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
  • Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
  • Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
  • Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
