Neutron is a medium lift launch vehicle capable of delivering the mega constellations of tomorrow high assurance payloads and human spaceflight. As a highly reusable launch platform Neutron will deliver a highly cost-effective and reliable launch solution leveraging Rocket Labs proven execution history with the Electron program. MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking Mechanical Technicians at several experience levels to join our team. Technicians will be based out of Rocket Labs newest Space Structures Complex production facility in Middle River MD. The Mechanical Technicians will be responsible for the build and assembly of components used in the production of the Neutron Launch Vehicle structure.

WHAT YOULL GET TO DO:

• Work on a high caliber cross functional team
• Building mechanical structures and related components
• Watch the hardware you build evolve into a completed Rocket and go to space.
• Uphold shop cleanliness and organization
• Utilize Proper PPE
• Integration of Mechanical Hardware

NOTE: This requisition can be hired at a Technician Level I II III or Senior.

YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS FOR MECHANICAL TECH I:

• Experience in mechanical assembly technical repair mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with hand power pneumatic and inspection tools

YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS FOR MECHANICAL TECH II:

• 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly technical repair mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with hand power pneumatic and inspection tools

YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS FOR MECHANICAL TECH III:

• 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly technical repair mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with hand power pneumatic and inspection tools

YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A SENIOR MECHANICAL TECH:

• 8 years of experience in mechanical assembly technical repair mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with hand power pneumatic and inspection tools

THESE QUALIFICATION WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification
• 2 years experience in new space or aerospace industry

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Stand and walk for entire shift (8 hours) on various work surfaces
• Climb ladders and work at elevated heightsmallspaces awkward positions and tight areas as needed
• Perform repetitive motions including bending twisting reaching grasping pushing pulling and stooping
• Use hands with precision to handle control andoperatetools instruments and equipment
• Lift carry push and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
• Work in varied environments including production floors equipment areas and field locations with exposure to noise temperature variations and moving machinery
• Flexibility to work extended hours weekends and varied shifts as operational needs require
