Job Summary
- Perform detailed inspectionsvisual dimensional and physicalon components assemblies and raw materials throughout various production phases (including in-process final and first article) to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Operate and utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers dial indicators gauge blocks height gauges and profilometers to validate part conformity.
- Conduct surface plate inspections and statistical lot sampling based on quality requirements.
- Apply sharp visual inspection skills to identify workmanship issues and product defects including damage such as burrs scratches loose fasteners dings and inadequate edge distances.
- Identify and categorize nonconformities and confirm that corrective actions or rework have beenproperly executed.
- Receiving shipping documentation for accuracy confirming part numbers serial numbers change notices and destination data are correct.
- Assure appropriate packaging preservation and delivery handling upon receiving.
- 3 years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection.
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards.
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances .005) using hand tools (e.g. micrometers calipers height gauges).
- Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
- Must be ITAR compliant.
