How Youll Make an Impact
Valvoline Global is seeking a motivatedMechanical Lab Internto join our team at the Ashland Automotive Propulsion Laboratory. This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic automotive testing environment focused on internal combustion engines powertrain components and vehicle-level testing. Youll work alongside experienced engineers and technicians supporting real-world research and development projects that help drive innovation in automotive lubricant performance.

Responsibilities Include

• Assist technicians and engineers with maintenance repairs and system installations
• Help design and set up testing components and mechanical assemblies
• Support setup calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation and data acquisition systems
• Participate in hands-on problem-solving and diagnostics across test environments
• Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance logs test data and technical observations
• Provide general technical support as needed within the lab
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures in a lab/testing setting
  

What Youll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent required; currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Technology or a related field preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools
• Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers micrometers etc.)
• Experience or interest in 3D CAD modeling 3D printing or data acquisition systems is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word and general computer use
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Solid problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds walk climb and stand for extended period
