IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Independence OH. Over 10-12 weeks you will assist in the analysis design and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry with a focus on HVAC.

This paid mentored internship offers real project experience alongside experienced engineers and consultants. You will support multidisciplinary healthcare-focused work contribute to project coordination and documentation and help deliver projects that align with budgets client expectations and advancing high-performance energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What Youll Do

Assist with design portions of mechanical-system projects according to code and IMEG standards

Research commercially available equipment for project use

Support client relations maintain the project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files

Coordinate design and schedule activities with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment-supplier partners

Document design decisions meetings and client instructions while monitoring project design progress

Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check

Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information

Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement

What Youll Bring

Required Education

Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong interest in design consulting

Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook

Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software

Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred

Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of Ohio Salary Range: $22.00/hr$24.00/hr

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including the candidates experience education knowledge skills abilities and licensure and certifications.
