Mechanical Engineer

This position focuses on the development and lifecycle support of M/D Totco Surface Products including advanced measurement devices and data acquisition and control systems that enhance customer operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of NOVs products customers and business operations
• Contribute to the design and development of new products and enhancements to existing systems
• Improve product performance reliability and efficiency through innovative engineering solutions
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (mechanical electrical software manufacturing)
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
• Take ownership of assigned work and drive execution to completion
• Apply sound engineering judgment and take calculated risks while continuously learning and sharing knowledge

Work Scope

• Support the full product lifecycle: concept design analysis testing validation commercialization and sustaining engineering
• Work on MDT surface product lines including sensors gas detection systems data acquisition and control systems
• Participate in supplier selection prototype development testing and manufacturing support
• Conduct field testing and validation at customer sites (rigs offshore platforms drillships)
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation (drawings assemblies and systems) using CAD and PLM tools
• Collaborate with project managers on planning scheduling and risk management
• Gain working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems

Required Competencies

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo (Pro/E)
• Ability to read interpret and create drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred / Beneficial Skills

• Product lifecycle management experience
• Experience managing complex assemblies and large bills of materials
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Experience with manufacturing processes (machining sheet metal welding casting assembly)
• Experience with structural analysis using FEA tools (Creo Simulation SolidWorks Simulation ANSYS) and hand calculations
• Ability to develop load paths and free-body diagrams
• Experience with flow or thermal analysis tools (e.g. CFDesign or similar)
